What Neil Gaiman?
Jesus bumps against his cognitive dissonance.
Or against his near death experience trauma?
And then he saw his shadow and we had six more weeks of winter
Just think, those young people are now themselves complaining about young people so busy texting they’ve forgotten the glories of twitbook.
Easter is allegedly comes in the spring
The bunny, eggs, does bring
This year the anthropogenic wizards
Didn’t see the seasonal blizzards
While odes to carbon taxes they bleat and they sing.
Not so fast, Mo–Ostara is an alternate spelling of Eostre, and Ostara certainly has devotees today. See https://www.facebook.com/ostaramusic/
Happy cruciversary, J! I plan to celebrate by enjoying some theobromos (a.k.a. chocolate). ๐
Right. Let’s celebrate fertility. Send the kids off into the woods to have sex. I look forward to a few more grand kids.
On a personal note, tomorrow I’m two weeks post-op from a TKR (that’s Total Knee Replacement in Scientology speak. They do love their acronyms.) I’m walking on it without a cane. We are living in an age of marvels. Not miracles, but marvels none the less for being understandable and explainable.
Happy Easter, mates. Cheers.
While we’re at it, let’s keep the Thor in Thursday.
Keep Mars in Tuesday
and Woden, in Wednesday,
Keep Thor in Thursday
and Freya in Friday
Saturn on Saturday
the Sun on Sunday
and the Moon on Monday
The seven religious days of the week for an old time fundy.
Tyr’s day ๐
All these years and you still can’t figure out how to make the cartoon fit nicely in a Twitbook post when sharing! happy Killthebabyjesus day for tomorrow, anyway
Sorry to hear about the knee replacement, DH. What did they replace it with? We have the NHS here, and it’s usually best to ask…
Spring has sprung
The grass has riz
Where last year’s drunken drivers is.

Jojo, thanks for asking. I can’t tell from the outside, but I think they replaced my knee with titanium and Teflon. Whatever is in there is working very well and I’m told it’s good for fifteen to twenty years.
I live in Canada, so an operation that would have cost 45 to 90K in the Untied States cost me just the price of the pain killers. Don’t know what’s wrong with those Mericans, but I’m sure happy with our health care system.
As an April Fools Day gag, I added a grease nipple and posted a picture of the incision. Nobody got the joke.
Us Untied Murkins don’t have a universal health care system. But we do have a health care hodgepodge and and a universal system of Congressional grift. That should count for something.
It might just be Faux News, but several people have told me that our insurance companies won’t pay for a joint replacement after age 75. Because if you don’t live another 15 – 20 years the insurance company would not have gotten their moneys worth.
D.H.,
So, nipples on your knees eh? I can only guess where it goes from there, but I’ve got a feeling that it’s going to be interesting.
For those who are curious…

DH, is it a reference to this: http://oz.wikia.com/wiki/Slide_Some_Oil_To_Me ?
When I read that you new knee is made of titanium and Teflon, I thoughth of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoLs0V8T5AA
Congratulations on being cane-free! Here’s hoping you’ll soon be pain-free, too.
@plainsuch “The seven religious days of the week for an old time fundy.”
Monday’s child is fair of face
Tuesday’s child is full of grace (‘Think: Martial arts)
Wednesday’s child is full of woe. (Having foreseen Ragnarok.)
Thursday’s child has far to go.
Friday’s child is loving and giving
Saturday’s child works hard for a living. (Latin. Saturnus < sator which = sower, seeder)
But she who is born on a bright Sunday,
Is merry and wise and witty and gay.

Fridayโs child is loving and giving (Freya, Aphrodite, Venus)
The spring fertility rites should always be held on Friday. But there’s a culture war going on, friends, a War on the True Meaning of Easter. The Xians are trying to change it into their celebration of a bizarre ritualized torture. You ask why? Because they hate the rebirth of spring, for they are a Death Cult. For proof we need look no further than the instrument of torture and death they worship as they main symbol of their faith – the cross.
DH, congrats on the new knee. How soon do you start playing football? (Any code will do although, as someone from the southern reaches of Australia, there is really only one that matters, colloquially known as ‘aerial pingpong’ by supporters of lesser forms of chasing a pigskin).
Hope everyone had a great Easter. I’m all in favour of any religious festival which involves worshipping chocolate.
Mary2, thanks. Foosball maybe (you know, the kind that’s played on a table with those twirly figures), but I think football will be out of the question for a year or two. Especially if I have to have the other knee done as well.
Off to physio now. Enjoy that chocolate bunny.
