It’s been years since that old contraption has been seen.

The story is here.

This LITERALLY made me Laugh out Loud. πŸ™‚

  2. Laripu says:

I had to suppress the laugh. πŸ™‚

  3. W. Corvi says:

Ahhhh, fake news is just like religion. NO ONE thinks their OWN fake news is fake.

  4. ladyduck says:

hahahaha! so good. You could not make this up. It’s like there no need for satire anymore when you read articles like this on the guardian.

  5. Bruce Gray says:

    FUBAR-ed again.

  6. Jay says:

I would like to see the Pope’s Biblical justification for calling it a very serious sin. Oh, what am I talking about, you can use the Bible to justify just about any crazy thing.

  7. Nassar Ben Houjda says:

    The ever accurate bizzaratron
Handles batches of irony, by the tonne
    Fake news is a sin
    Count the vatican in
    Honesty, it has none.

  8. Dr John the Wipper says:

Chimes well in tune with our just-out-of office Minister of Foreign Affairs, who maintained for several years that he was at Outin;s datcha to hear him boast of Great-Russia, but was fact-checked to absolutely NOT POSSIBLY having been there at that time.

  9. DocAtheist says:

Check out Caspian Report’s video on Fake News. It’s just out, the first of a series, and it starts with a real gang-buster about the Vatican. I couldn’t get the link to load, but it’s easy to find on YouTube.

  10. cjsm says:

I have the t-shirt! But it is getting a little worn. Time for a new one?

  11. Dr John the Wipper says:

    Belated erratum:
Of course Outin should read Putin.

(and I should proo fread better!)

  12. Michael says:

Jesus has one of the old electro-mechanical irony meters which only goes up to 1 kilothatchers. He needs to get a digital 10 kilothatcher irony meter if he wants to deal with today’s irony generated by people like Donald Trump and Narendra Modi.

  13. M27Holts says:

Jebus needs to buy the new religion xp irony meter that comes with factory fitted iron age exclusion filter!

  14. Someone says:

Another day, another school shooting in America (trademark).
I’ll bet the irony meter will explode once reports come in for the figures in gun sales after the massacre (trademark).

And of course the NRA will demand rights for gun-owners, the lawmakers will stand impotent in prayer and under the yoke of those who keep them rich and sated, and the elected fΓΌhrer will find some way to deflect reviews into the inherent flaws of a system that allows mentally ill/psychotic civilians to access and purchase high caliber weapons by shifting the blame towards Mexicans, Muslims and any other detractors, probably while reporting his own inadequacy to take action from the tragedy as fake news (trademark).

  15. Deimos says:

Donald’s wall is looking increasingly like a good idea, anything to keep the Americans in America!

I’m trying to fit my iPhone with something to impersonate an irony meter, it makes a great punchline generator.
Unfortunately you can’t put real irony sensitive software on any Apple products as they tend to explode.

  16. M27Holts says:

Arming teachers is apparently the way to go….that’s hitting one megathatchers on my irony meter.

  17. HelenaHandbasket says:

But will arming teachers go far enough? Mere sidearms would not seem to be sufficient. They need at least full body armour and the ability to lay down suppressing fire during recess.
After all, I find myself regularly reading posts from my American friends that go (roughly) “Day 12 of my intensive month-long firearms training course (that I have to renew each year to keep up to spec). Boy, is using a real gun in a real situation different from the fantasies that Hollywood serves up”
    Sproing

  18. M27Holts says:

Any culture that allows homo sapiens to possess distance killing devices of the lethality of assault rifles can expect casualties on a level that any intelligent person would deem unacceptible. I therfore hypothesize that a lot of usa citizens cannot possibly be classified as intelligent!

  19. Graham ASH-PORTER says:

Says the scared Pope who insist that Islam is a Religion of Peace!!!

  20. Ketil W.Grevstad says:

hehehehe this was funny, i love it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  21. FreeFox says:

@Jay: Be the pope’s words as ironic as they may in regard to the “fakiness” of Church dogma in general, but the bible – old and new testament – has a lot of proscriptions of lying. Here is just a small sample of them:

You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. (Exodus 32:1)

Thou shalt not murder. Neither shalt thou commit adultery. Neither shalt thou steal. Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour. (Deuteronomy 5:16)

There are six things that the LORD strongly dislikes, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. (Proverbs 6:16–19)

But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. (Matthew 15:18-19)

  22. Laripu says:

@Freefox, that’s actually Exodus 23:1, your fingers reversed it. “You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.”

I’m considering sending “Exodus 23:1” as a simple message to Mike Pence.

  23. Some Dude says:

    Spot on! XD

We know whose irony meter definitely doesn’t work: Pope Francis’.

  24. FreeFox says:

    @Laripu: I stand corrected.

  25. Dr John the Wipper says:

in February 24th, 2016’s comments I pointed Two Cents (and anyone else interested) to JohnJoe McFadden’s “Quantum Evolution” on the emerging ideas about the origin of life.
Recently I got “Life on the Edge” by Jim Al-Khalili and JohnJoe McFadden, which is basically 15 year’s worth of update in this emerging science. ISBN 9780552778077.
    VERY worth reading!
